Our Story - From The Start
Manmaruya reinvents the neighborhood eatery, combining timeless inspiration from classic Japanese with inventive and playful modern flair. With influences ranging from the 1950s diner to the elegant railway dining cars of days past, you’ll find a nostalgic collection of comforts, classics and curiosities with a modern twist.

About The Owner
Hideki Goto was born in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Japan in 1970. Utsunomiya is located 100km north of Tokyo and is also famous for its Gyoza dumplings.
Hideki was introduced to the culinary world through his mother, who raised him while working for over 30 years in child-care as a professional canteen cook.
In the early 90’s Hideki began his career as a chef in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo. He continued to gather knowledge and experience at several restaurants and hotels all around Japan and Australia.
Then in 2008, the chef established a restaurant at Campsie, MANMARUYA, which brings us to today.
